September 2025 reflections
It’s the end of September. And it went by like a dreamy blur. Like a photograph of a departing subway train, flashing by with its bleeding edges, I too bled in love this very month.
Music
A curation of songs I listened to on repeat as I winded down the curly forest-crusted roads of Vancouver Island.

Wonstein’s TENT released on September 25, 2025
I enjoyed the full album start to finish which is always a refreshingly wonderful experience.
I came across this album on a drive or bike ride but the lyrics stood out starkly that I had to go home and really sit down and read them again. I really enjoyed the honesty and realness he shared, in an outsider looking in type of way, noting things that people do that make no sense.
Very Bieber-esque (his new album SWAG) for some reason, with the interludes of voice notes in his album especially
On the sound bites of “life” in albums.. I see this being a bit more trendier though it’s been done long ago by the likes of Drake and other artists from the beginning of time. I get the appeal, I love the aesthetic of sprinkling these in, because I’m a true believer of real life “noise” being music and art. But it’s kind of annoying having to skip over these if I’m playing the whole album, which I am doing with this album because I like literally every song in this.
Particular lines I loved:
Sandwiches:
Coffee shop
DENIM:
Insta를 꺼야 돼
Insta를 꺼
사람을 돈으로 사면 그 다음
사람도 돈으로 사야 돼
영혼을 헐값에 팔면
다음엔 영원히 볼 수 없게 돼
The whole lyrics from Pajama because of how bizarrely it reflected the very scenes of my past relationship.
The name of the album and its visualizer was very fitting as I’ve been “glamping” around, staying in forests, tents, and overlooking the Pacific Ocean just as he was doing. His white tent looks just like the cream tipi tent I stayed in. So the whole vibe and spirit of the album came at a fitting time for me to indulge in. I love it when God gives me the perfect backdrop to listen to a new album.
Favourites: Sandwiches (Zion. T), Memo..! (Original Pitch), DENIM with Valo, Pajama
Baby J on a Tuktuk | Tuktuk Radio
Had this on repeat.
There was a very special moment where I lost my way in Sooke Provincial Park and lost all data and reception. I was an hour of walking distance far out and had to retrace my steps backwards (another 1 hour). Thankfully had this playlist downloaded on my phone so listening to this walking back alone fully calmed my nervous system. Thank you Baby J!!!
Another set I’ve been listening to on the road was a B2B with Vitamin B and HIỀN ĐIÊN - definitely one for the girlzzz. I stumbled upon it when it first came out, thought about it recently and revived it into my playlist. Love the fun throwbacks and lacing in a lil Gwen Stefani and Black Pink in there.🫶🏼
Olivia Dean. Just all of her. I’m late to the game but just grateful to have her exist on this earth. I swear she lived as a famous soul singer in a past life. Apparently she’s labelled as Neo-Soul singer which I think fits well!
Tony Ann. I discovered him because he’s currently on tour and happened to drop into Victoria! He deserves a whole separate article so I’ll save that for later. This was a proud moment to be a fellow Canadian as he (he’s from Scarborough to be exact!)
No Broke Boys - Disco Lines & Tinashe - listening to this driving 90mph among topsy turvy roads passing evergreens and the saltwater ocean is a spiritual experience for an isolated girl

Doja Cat’s album Vie released on September 26, 2025.
I surprisingly did not like any of the songs in this album and I’m a huge fan of hers! I usually like 1 or 2 songs in her albums but this time was surprising! It’s the same way I felt about Tyler the Creator’s recent album. But hey, I understand.. They are both in their own lane, experimenting with their internal zeitgeist and what intrigues them personally at the moment. That’s ultimately what I appreciate.
Food
I’ve been addicted to pan roasting carrots and tomatoes I get from the farmer’s market. And there’s always something different about getting them from the farmer’s market. I love taking the leafy green tops off the carrots, chucking them in the provided bin, and throwing them in a paper bag. Something about the process is super wholesome, and knowing that you’re cooking organic carrots, even more so.
I’ve been loving scrambled eggs with tomatoes.
Recipe:
Prepare eggs by cracking 1-2 eggs in a bowl and mixing with salt and pepper
Slice some tomatoes (I personally like medium sized ones on the vine, but honestly any kind will do) into small cubes.
On medium-high heat with a lot of olive oil, fry the tomatoes, add salt mid-way
Pour the egg mix in and scramble everything together.
I usually lower the heat and it takes probably 30 seconds till I get the consistency I want (not too overdone, a bit on the creamier side)
Pan fried carrots.
Recipe: Slice carrots into thin long slices. Get pan with olive oil and on medium-high heat. Once hot, throw carrots in and let roast till a little burnt. The subtle burnt look is key to the taste. Salt midway and also to finish. I go heavyhanded with the salt as it goes well with the sweetness of the carrots. SO YUM!
I’ve been eating these two dishes every morning (with sides and rice/porridge) and I never get sick of it. Love!!!
I’ve been loving adding Salsa Gonzales’ (made in Victoria!) Salsa Roja. It’s become my favourite staple sauce. Siracha-level staple.
Books
Whereas I was reading voraciously in July-August, I’ve tapered off and with good reason. I’m too busy exploring the great outdoors of BC while it still gets some sunshine! These days it’s been gloomy which seems like a clear transition into fall.
I’ve been reading Pleaidian channeling stuff, I’ve be reading more stuff on ig (not proud of, but we all have our seasons), and reading some astrology stuff (which is always a constant)
Hobbies
fb marketplace, thrifting
It’s not good. I’ve become a monster. I’m absolutely addicted. It’s sort of become a problem. But I can’t let it go. I have to.
I love that where I’m in on the island they sell fresh produce grown from people’s backyards. I’ve picked up 3 pounds of organic concord grapes which is a steal as they’ve been selling 1 pound for like 7$ at the farmer’s market
I’ve been loving reducing my search down to parameters, that way you’re less overwhelmed and it becomes a fun, creative, exciting way to shop because it becomes a treasure hunt!
It’s fun because when you do it while traveling you get to explore new neighbourhoods you otherwise wouldn’t have known about!

Spirituality
Grounded meditation doesn’t have to be listening to “2 hour guided meditation chakra healing music”. It doesn’t have to be not consuming as much because you are “living on light”. This month I’ve learned that it’s more grounding to be doing on-the-earthly-ground-tangible activities. It’s often watching youtube vlogs (not sticking my nose up to them because of the consumerism it exudes, in fact I do find something spiritual seeing people spending money on things they enjoy and inspiring me to do so), it can be shopping, anything to do within the earthly realm
When all I do is meditate, pray, do a tarot reading, and try to “just be”, I actually end up being under-nourished physically, and the lack of vitality and Mars-fire to build my career. But you have to consume as much as you produce. You have to produce so that you get hungry to consume. Being still can be detrimental to me.
